Intimate Wedding at Kew Gardens
Cambridge Cottage is a sensational setting in a secluded part of Kew Gardens in South West London. Once the residence of the Duke of Cambridge the Drawing Room and Gallery open onto the picturesque and secluded Duke's Garden. If you are planning an intimate wedding Cambridge Cottage at Kew Gardens is a truly beautiful wedding venue to consider.
Wedding planning
When we first met Holly and David, we knew they would have a wonderful Wedding Day, they both love flowers and wanted them to play a special part on their Wedding Day. An original date for May 2020 with a colour palette of white and green was planned however rescheduled due to covid, they decided to postpone until October 2022. Moving from a late Spring wedding to an Autumnal wedding Holly was keen to embrace the season with a change of colour palette. With October being late Summer early autumn we decided to go with warm autumnal tones. Using pops of cream and including sunset tones with darker burgundy and paler apricot shades. The great news was also that Holly’s favourite flower Dahlia could now be added as they flower in October.
Ceremony statement flowers
For the ceremony, two pedestals were placed as a focal feature at the end of the room. The aisle had arrangements down the aisle to the moments just before they said I do. The bride and groom's chair were also decorated.
The aisle flowers were later repurposed around the venue and at the base of the seating plan and cake table.
Wedding reception tables
For the tables, beautiful glass urns were filled with stunning Dahlia and the most gorgeous fragrant English roses, stock, lisianthus and pops of delicious chocolate cosmos – which yes do smell of chocolate! With the venue being a listed building, all candles were enclosed inside glass and tealights were added to the tables.
Johanna was the florist for our Wedding at Cambridge Cottage, Kew Garden in October 2022. We could not recommend her more highly – the flowers looked better than we could have imagined, and we had so many compliments.
Johanna was fantastic at liaising with the venue and handling all the details of the flowers on the day. We felt nothing was too much trouble and she really cared so much about the day. All the communication with Johanna was clear and quick and we really appreciated how accommodating Johanna was of our covid related date changes.
Choosing Johanna was one of the best decisions for the Wedding!
