Those smiles say it all the joy and love captured at intimate Weddings shows no matter what size your Wedding is the important thing is you are marrying the love of your life.
It was an absolute joy to flower Jessica and Adams Wedding, an awesome Autumnal September Wedding and we are delighted to share their Wedding which took place in Richmond. Due to covid this couple had to change their plans completely as they were due to marry in Seville and Jessica has kindly shared her experiences about planning their Wedding during a pandemic below.
'One of the best things about planning a wedding during a pandemic is that you might be able to book a supplier that would have otherwise been booked up. I did some research into florists, knowing that I wanted something that looked beautiful but was not 'cookie cutter' wedding. I loved the look of Johanna's work and happily for us, she was free. We had a similar experience with our photographer and also booking one of our favourite (notoriously difficult to get a table) restaurants for the reception.
At the start of the year, we had grand plans for our big day including live musicians, gin bars and candy stands and we didn't have any of it but we had the best day. Our wedding day felt like all of our birthdays had come at once- it was the ultimate celebration, even in the current circumstances.
There are obvious limitations when planning a wedding around restrictions but there are also more options available when you have a smaller group. The excitement and happiness that you feel will make your day special and for that, you really only need the person you are marrying!'
One of the changes due to covid meant that they needed to have their photographs before the ceremony, this was because the restaurant needed everyone to arrive at the same time together. Jessica and Adam went for a 'first look' which went that they had some extra special intimate moments captured before the Ceremony.
First Look photos, special memories captured by the amazing Graham Nixon Photography.
Jessica wore a stunning Bridal dress by Anna Kara, Roma, which she purchased from Miss Bush Bridal boutique in Ripley. The most delicate, graceful tulle dress with beautiful embroidery leaves . A stunning veil and beautiful ear rings by Atelier Chokerball, an independent local jeweller.
Romance on Richmond Hill with the stunning views across the River Thames.
Using lots of delicious Dahlia and stunning September seasonal flowers including, Amaranthus, Craspedia, Erynigium thisle, Helichrysum, Panicum Grass, Sedum, vibrant spray rose and lots of textured foliage included berried populus. Tied simply with raffia for a natural look. We sourced our flowers from our trusted suppliers including wholesalers who buy off the dutch market and also visiting a local flower farm for the stunning seasonally available Dahlia and other gorgeous ingredients. Jessica had the most delicious colour palette to work with which was perfect for an Autumnal Wedding shades of Orange, rust, pops of yellow and Navy blue, romantic, modern and natural with a vibrant edge, perfect for a fun couple.
A cluster buttonhole for Adam included his favourite colour orange so we used the vibrant Orange bubbles spray rose with a selection a tiny ingredients that were also in the Bridal bouquet. Some of these included Eryigium Thistle, Craspedia, Eucalyptus, seasonal viburnham berry and Crocosmia Berry tied with blue twine to complement his navy suit.
The church St Matthias is located in Richmond and has a stunning interior, we created a floral arch onto the internal beautiful wooden structure. Vibrant Dahlia, Sedum, Roses and hanging Amaranthus were some of the seasonal flowers used.
'We were absolutely delighted with the flowers that Johanna created and she was a joy to work with. I had a few 'fluid' ideas for our wedding flowers and my (now) husband had some ideas too. She took onboard everything we said, suggested a few different styles to us and talked to us really openly about budgets so we could make clear decisions. It all came together perfectly and I would recommend her to anyone'.
